My Mom's Visiting
OK, I've found myself repeating this over and over lately, so occasional dumb ass that I am, I finally realized I should probably post it -

My mom is visiting from New Jersey. She will be here from Tuesday, March 15 to Thursday, the 24th. I usually only see her once or twice a year, so I will, for the most part, be unavailable to do anything after work during that period.

I may, however, be dragging her to BARF this weekend (I'm thinking Saturday, but not positive yet), especially amusing since I don't think she's ever been (though I'm fairly certain she's been to Medieval Faire at Ringling, years ago).

We may also do the karaoke thing, she really enjoyed that last trip. If anyone has any additional, mom-friendly suggestions for fun night's out, I'm all ears (somehow, I think the Castle is out). ;)

	Well you can send her about 50 minutes northward and have her babysit for me! Women love kids. On a more serious side: Seminole Casino is a fun place if she's partial to that kind of thing. And it's not expensive at all if you play the cheap slots. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Nothing says "vacation" like coming down here to get a break from babysitting your two, new grandchilden and babysitting! ;) Thanks for the casino heads up, she had mentioned that as well (actually, she was thinking of staying there, do you know how fucking expensive that place is?). BARF is a good option (we are heading that way this Saturday as well), Centro Ybor might have some options depending on music and food tastes, same goes for BayWalk. I dunno, it is hard to make suggestions when you don't know a person ...

	Cool, another white slave - I mean babysitting - candidate (counting money in head from black market, white child sales, 1k, 2k, etc...). Not sure about BARF yet, it's up to her. It's not looking likely.

Geo and I have been talking about it for weeks now, but since it's 1st Qtr end, there's a vacation blackout at our work, so we would have to leave here Fri and return Sunday. Since neither of us can afford to fly right now, we would have to drive all night Fri and all day Sunday, and we're not sure we're up for that much driving time in a regular, two-day weekend.

No, that's what a vacation blackout is, no time off permitted from March 28 through April 8, except our regular weekends. That's the problem.

We were actually getting stoked about it, I was looking forward to going to Cafe Du Monde on the way through for some coffee and beignets. We wanted to make it a three or four day weekend and spend one night in N'awlins.

Now, sadly, if we do make it, it would pretty much be drive in, go to wedding, go home.
