Whirlwind Week
Well, once again and almost a week with no post, but at least I had an even more busy week than last, so I feel less guilty.

I'm having a "small world" week. First, went to Pornaoke at the Pegasus Lounge on Wednesday with my friend Kelly. She was going with her friend Millie, whom I'd never met. Turns out Millie is someone whom I've known for over a decade's sister (and who I didn't even know had a sister). Bizarre. Also found out that one of Kelly's best friends, Marcia, is friends with Kelli K, whom I'm not exactly friends with (circumstance, not choice), but have known for a long time. And ran into Will there, who was nice enough to buy me a beer.

Pornaoke was interesting: people sing karaoke but, instead of playing the words or videos behind them, they play porn. Kelly and I were occasionally laughing our asses off.

Then Thursday, had to go pick up my tickets for the Go Gos (yes, I am a procrastinator). After that, decided to do some shopping, which I haven't done in a while, and happened on two incredible finds -

1) A book that was practically written for me...

2)...and a movie only the insane should see...

One of the strangest films ever made, but does it get any better?: A film about Queen Elizabeth I instructing court sorcerer Dr. John Dee to show her a glimpse of the future, albeit a surrealistic, anarchistic and nihilistic, punk-inspired one (the film was made in 1978). With sorcery, punk rock, appearances by Adam Ant, Siouxsie, Jordan (quoting Rocky Horror in the film with I myself prefer the song, "Don't Dream It, Be It"), the Slits, Wayne County, John Dee played by Richard O'Brien, and Little Nell naked, 'nuff said.

Friday night, went to the Go Gos with [info]darkwing2022 and [info]geodiaz, damn, they're still hot!

Saturday, got some buffalo-shrimp goodness at Hooters and went to Duran Duran with darkwing2022, one of the best concerts I've seen in years, they were phenomenal!

Sunday, spent the day jamming with darkwing2022 and our friend Tommy - damn, he can play!

Then today, as if I wasn't tired enough, GAVE BLOOD

I'm going home to expire now, if you don't hear from me, it's cause I died!

Giving blood is good.

Being able to give blood is better.

Having lived in Asia for a year, it will be a long, long time before I can donate blood. Being as Asia is way behind us medically (Korea is very primative.. think MASH 4077), and still has nasty things like malaria and other contagious diseases running around that can lay dormant for months before popping up.

Yeah, I knew that (they asked me if I'd been to Asia, Europe, or Africa, and I forget the name they used, but they asked me about the human variant of mad cow disease - I thought that was cool)!

I wouldn't let it bother you, life's often about circumstances. If you feel that strongly, just channel it into getting other people you know wouldn't donate on their own, until you're able to again.

Does Millie work for an insurance company? Furthermore, is she a karaoke freak? If so, and you see here again, tell her Nicole from Esurance says HI, etc.

Hooters AND DD? Fuck, I think I need some buffalo shrimp when I get home!!!

A) Yes, B) I think so, and C) sure, if I see her again (she kinda stormed out of Pegasus for some reason, leaving Kelly and me.

I almost ordered 30, but I though better of it. There's no Hooters in Nihon? I'm actually a little surprised.
