Yay, weekend!
I had a great weekend!

Went to [info]fearangel's suprise birthday party, organized by [info]djpsychobilly, and proceeded to get hammered! Last count, [info]dragonflii_echo had made me at least eight Midori Sours, I was very happy.

It was good to spend time with fearangel, djpsychobilly, and [info]gishgish, who I haven't seen that much of lately, not to mention [info]hrolf and [info]lofn, who I don't think I've spent time with since fearangel and djpsychobilly's old apartment, I forgot how much fun they are, they kept me laughing all night.

Was also able to get a ride from [info]geodiaz to pick up godofbastards when he got off work (I was supposed to do it - see aforementioned Midori Sours).

[info]axory and [info]iveegrein were there also, and bought fearangel one of the coolest things ever - it's called an Aquapet

and it was the cutest damn thing ever. It was like a micro-Furby that can interact with you and other Aquapets.

Ended up crashing at dragonflii_echo place, so I wouldn't have to drive home. Then, she and I hung out Saturday (well, technically, she hung out at my place watching It on TV while I scrubbed my bathtub - long overdue).

Saturday nite, per my plans, headed to The Bank. Nobody from the LJ community showed up, but I had a blast anyway. For those who remember the club DJLegion was spinning at, it's the same, but dramatically remodeled. There's a main room where the nightly theme is held, and a second lounge spinning trance, both with a bar and lots of comfy leather couches to chill. The doorguy, Brian, made my night - he carded me - I thanked him for the sentiment.

Talked with the dj, Mark, very nice guy, very cool. My t-shirt from Altamont Records

Clash logo on neon pink, finally got the props it deserves (I get ragged on for it at work whenever I wear it). Mark had seen the Clash live in '79, so I immediately hated him. ;)

He was playing a great mix: Hong Kong Garden by Siouxsie & the Banshees, Stay Near by ABC, Mothers Talk by Tears For Fears, She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult.

Drank a Newcastle (or three) to [info]queenwench when Wild Boys by Duran Duran started playing, and was missing [info]compass_rose when Erasure's Who Needs Love Like That came on. I was sorry compass_rose, [info]gwenhwfyr, and [info]fionathecelt didn't make it.

And I had to laugh out loud when Homicide by 999 started playing, having heard that song about a billion times in the last six months (it's one of the songs my band played for our Tampa Theatre gig).

Then I got a call from geodiaz about 1am, he was heading to breakfast with our friend [info]eclectic_guru, who is currently visiting from NYC (yay, NYC!). We all went to Village Inn by my house until about 4am, hung out after that at my place until about 5am, and they headed home.

Spend most of Sunday recovering, then to visit [info]darkwing2022, wife, and mini-darkwing2022 for dinner at Shells.

Damn, I'm tired...

I'm sorry but I was feeling all weird because no one I really knew was going to the Bank, (Don't really know you yet). And I was unsure about driving so far over to St. Pete to try to find a place I didn't know anything about and possibly be all alone again with no one I knew feeling out of place. Don't mind me. I'll try better next time. I went to the one club I know well, even though my friends were not going that night but it's a start.

It sounds like they played great music.

But kick-ass (or boot-head) industrial was good for me.

Next time I'll join you.

It's cool, I get it. But you can't get to know someone unless you spend some time with them. I know from previous [info]obsidiangryphon parties that you kinda keep to yourself, just didn't realize you were so shy.

Just kinda hard for me to relate to, I'll go anywhere, don't care whether I know people or not.

I used to be like that with driving - I was paranoid about getting lost. Then, while living in Charlotte, NC, I got lost, and realized that between fits of freaking out, I would occasionally go, "Oh, look at that!" noticing some cool store, restaurant, or whatever to check out later. It was at that time I realized being lost is just exploring somewhere you've never been before.

New people can be like that, too.

Again sorry. Sometimes I'm more outgoing and sometimes I'm more shy. I guess it was a shy weekend.
Of course this past weekend on Friday night I had already driven out to Seminole for the metal concert by myself.

Next time I'll just force myself to drive out to St. Pete and enjoy it come hell or high water.

I am glad you had a good time :) ... Let me know next time you plan on going and I will double up my efforts on going. I was really bummed about missing it :(

I am also glad you got the Clash tee. I am sure it looks pink-a-licious on you ... And very cool on getting carded :)

Thats THe Bank now? I didn't know that. After I get the new place I'll have a bit more time to spend with people. (as long as I'm not working) If you go out there again I'll see about getting a ride down there some night and hanging out! sorry I missed it.
