OK, so I'm ages overdue on a post, but I've been fried lately...
Last weekend was a blur of both great concerts and the chance to see a friend after months away.
Last Thursday, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) darkwing2022 and I got to see a legend: Billy Idol - w/Steve Stevens no less - at Ruth Eckerd. An awesome show.
Then Friday, dinner and a show with queenwench, finally back from Japan. I was so happy to see her home at last.
darkwing2022 had gotten us tickets for another legend: Joan Jett at the Forum. Best new material I've heard at a show in a long time, must pick up her new album.
Saturday, we all headed out to see Hitchhiker's, not sure I really have a comment here. As a very devoted fan of both the books and the radio show, I enjoyed it, but felt it wasn't the classic it could (or should) have been.
The week that followed was fairly uneventful, a few nights of killing stuff with darkwing2022 (ah, the addiction of Dark Alliance II).
Did get to spend time with lisamartin, which A) we haven't done it a while, B) was unfortunately distracted by the exploration of the little one into the potentially dangerous and hitherto unexplored recesses of my house, and C) which we will have to do again soon.
Spend this Saturday night with fionathecelt, who mistakenly advised me she had never seen SLC Punk, which just could not be in my world, so we had a great punk movie night, following up with Suburbia, and assorted videos for bands I knew she had heard but never seen. My apologies, Fiona, if I kept you out too late.
Sunday dinner with darkwing2022's family and then off to Kingdom of Heaven with him, izzy1277, fionathecelt, and queenwench. Great night with friends, lousy movie - rent it if it's free (or cheap). Even the action wasn't enough to appease me with writing so bad.
Which at last brings me current once again (I think - my apologies if my addled brain has forgotten anything). |
