| Awesome and Bizarre Week |

This is a bit overdue, but this week has been both awesome and bizarre...
It pretty much started Sat with lunch with ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) darkwing2022 and Jr, izzy1277, and geodiaz at Cheesecake factory, hadn't been in ages. Then there was the inevitable talk of a movie, which instead translated into playing X-Men at Geo's house instead - apparently I'm overly-obsessed with killing things ("Kill stuff, kill stuff, kill stuff!").
Unfortunately, this lasted till about 2a, which was bad considering my long day of music ahead.
Had band practice with Chris and Tommy at 12p - fuck you Sabotage - which lasted til about 5, then off to Social Distortion. With only one downside to the night, the show was awesome. We came to the mutual conclusion that Jannus must have finally updated their sound system or speakers.
Mon, I did nothing on purpose, cause the rest of my week was booked.
Tue, I went out to the Briggs/7 seconds show. I've been a fan of the Briggs for years, but never had the chance to see them live - they're sick, truly skilled musicians, and I told the drummer as much (one of the things I like about punk shows over other shows is guys with major label contracts still wandering around the audience after their set).
Wed, I spent the night at a new coffeeshop in Oldsmar, The Den/Uncommon Grounds, with a friend I haven't seen much of in years. We had one of those all-night, can't tear yourself away, heart-to-heart talks - it was excellent. I look forward to doing it again.
Thur, dinner at Bennigan's with Liz and Tommy. I see Tommy every Sun now, but haven't spent time with Liz in weeks. We seem to be stuck in a loop, our previous endless discussions in equally-endless directions now keep turning back to my usual bitch topics instead. I've resolved to try and not let this happen again.
Now, Fri, I'm off to give compass_rose a call as promised, and hopefully we can hang out.
Now, the awesome, I think that is self explanatory. But the bizarre?
This has been a strange year for me, really connecting with people I've known (or thought I've known) for years. I didn't realize how out of my own circles I'd moved until this last year, and I gotta tell ya, I'm happy I'm on my way to being me again. |
